Triplefin keeps in shade, defends it's territory from other males by shifting across on specially accommodated pectoral fins. All of the triplefin females look quite the same, so only males in their best bib and tucker can be distinguished more or less confidently: T. tripteronotus has more significant dorsal fins and T. delaisi wears yellow dress.
